The Wizard of Doom - His Eternal Rage of Inner Nature

The Wizard of Doom is a very, very high quality band in the underground doom scene. This is excellent material, and it's only his demo material. TWOD has a very bright future if he keeps releasing material such as this.

Musically, this music is just interesting. The way the instruments melt together to create the atmosphere is plainly awesome. The guitar riffs are heavy, slow, and give the music the death metal and doom feel. Mikkel is a skilled guitarist, and the guitar solos prove it. The bass guitar is clearly audible, especially in the opening song 'A Carnival Bizarre'. The bass guitar helps add a deep sound into the mix, adding to the heaviness. The keyboard work is also very helpful to the music. The keyboard adds the effect of atmosphere into the music, and also keeps the music interesting. The vocals give the music the death metal feel along with the guitar work. Mikkel uses a death grunt style vocals, as well as some clean singing. The vocal work is very enjoyable. The drumming isn't very stand-out in the mix, but it sounds good in the background.

The Wizard of Doom is by far one of my favorite death/doom bands. I surely hope the next release from Mikkel will be as good, or even better than this one. I'd recommend you go listen to this band, and maybe you'll like them as much as I do.
