This is a very interesting album from Chichago's Novembers doom published in 2005. Standard doom metal with some almost death metal riffs is taking the listener to a whole new level.
Poetic lyrics about scarecrows with some death metal growl and clean vocals takes you to another "cold, empty" world. They talk about dark world, emotions and doom.
I really love the akustic guitar parts which are quite common in their songs.
The first song The pale haunt departure represents all that the album has: power, doom, great clean vocals and a lot more.
Their melodic sound comes from gothic style, symphonic keyboards.
Their atmosphere is somehow unique and basicaly very emotional although there are some death metal guitar riffs. Guitars are heavy with a full and powerfull sound. Drums are somehow common for this type of music.
If i compare the older albums Novembers doom gained a bit of different atmosphere and a bit heavier guitar riffs. But all the emotional riffs can still be seen in the Pale haunt departure.
I would suggest this album to all death and doom fans.
